Royal Eastern Beverage Company
Sidewood
Sidewood is a privately owned vineyard, nestled in the cool climate region of the Adelaide Hills, the heart of Australian cool climate wine. Owen and Cassandra Inglis purchased the estate from the Lloyd Family of Coriole in 2004. Grapes are carefully handpicked from only selected rows across the 300 acre estate. Award winning wines are made by internationally acclaimed winemaker, Natasha Mooney on-site at one of Australia's premier wineries.

The aim is to create stylish and elegant wines that are focused on quality and underpinned by impeccable wine making, whilst championing the award winning wine region of the Adelaide Hills. The style is vibrant, vivacious, fresh and clean, with great intensity and structure. Indulge with family, good food, good friends, and good conversation.

Sidewood 2009 Chardonnay
Colour Medium straw
Aroma White peach and apricot with nutmeg and spice
Palate A rounded and full fruited palate, very peachy flavours from the cool climate vineyards and a complexity of honey and nutmeg. This wine contains three clones of Chardonnay from the Sidewood vineyards which gives the wine real complexity.
Food Pairing   Drink with snapper or Atlantic salmon dishes. The creaminess of this Chardonnay also goes perfectly with cheese dishes such as a goat's cheese souffle. Even try chicken dumpling soup. This has the texture and salty flavours to match the Chardonnay's sweetness.

Sidewood 2009 Sauvignon Blanc
Colour Light straw with green hues
Aroma Lime, passionfruit and mineral finesse. A lively savvy
Palate Classic cool climate vineyards produce wines with natural acidity and minerality on the palate. This wine has all of that combined with mouth filling lime juice and passionfruit flavours.
Food Pairing   Drink with oysters as the wine acidity mixes perfectly with the oyster saltiness and texture. Try Sashimi or fresh sardines on crusty white bread. Or simply nothing, just a cold glass.

Sidewood 2009 Pinot Gris
Colour Medium straw
Aroma Floral, orange blossom with a characteristic talc character that is often seen in Pinot Gris.
Palate Lychee and guava fruit, sweetness with an acid line. The palate has length and a real mineral, earthy character straight from the cool climate Sidewood vineyard. Pinot Gris is a very site specific variety and the correct site is required to get the varieties full potential. We have worked hard to get this variety in the coolest site in the vineyard on a gentle sloping Western aspect.
Food Pairing   Sidewood Pinot Gris style is full and rounded and drinks brilliantly with seafood. Great with something like a fleshy fish curry.

Sidewood 2007 Shiraz
Colour Med red with vivid red hue
Aroma Cinnamon and 5 spice with rich plum fruit. Lively fruit aromas mixed with spice.
Palate The 2007 vintage produced very small crops which gives way to an intense wine. This Shiraz exhibits amazing mid palate red fruit flavours with a great line and elegance. After eighteen months in oak and six months in bottle, this wine is ready to drink.
Food Pairing   The sweetness of fruit in this wine goes wonderfully with sweeter sauced dishes such as duck and plum sauce.
